Marriage Restoration Scriptures

Marriage Restoration

A healthy and happy marriage is a blessing from a loving Heavenly Father. His plan for happy marriages is found in the scriptures and through personal revelation to each individual. However, the enemy the devil often tries to disrupt God’s plan for man. As a result, many marriages are unhappy and could be at risk of ending in divorce if the individuals involved do not seek help from God.

If you are going through separation or divorce, or your marriage is struggling, you can find comfort in the fact that God is able to restore your marriage and make it stronger than ever. He has promised to those who honour Him and His commandments, and who seek Him with all their heart:

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14)If you are considering divorce or have already made the decision to end your marriage, please read on. If you want a happy marriage from now on, I invite you to make a decision to seek God’s help in restoring your marriage. Ask Him for His help individually, in your family, and through church leaders. God has promised that He will be there for you. And He also promises blessings to those who seek Him.

What is marriage restoration

Marriage restoration is the process of bringing back a couple together after separation or divorce and healing any problems that may have contributed to the split. Marriage restoration is also known as “marriage reconciliation,” because it seeks to restore a broken relationship. I must point out here that it does not matter the state of your marriage. Jesus Christ is able to restore your marriage to the same happiness, love, and affection it once had when you first got married.

Marriage restoration takes effort from both parties in the relationship. But much more often than not, one or both partners take little responsibility for their part in the demise of their marriage. They might think that they are not deserving of God’s help or that they won’t be able to change. However, God’s ability to help with marital problems is not dependant on how much work YOU have done. He can still bless you, even if either one of you has failed miserably – all because He loves you so very much!

He doesn’t wait to see if you’ve worked hard enough before He blesses you, He promises blessings as soon as you start seeking Him. God is very willing and able to help those who seek Him from a pure heart. This means that if your relationship with God has been lacking in some way – or even non-existent – then now is the time to begin restoring it.

God wants to restore your marriage

The devil is always our adversary and this is especially true in marriage. Satan’s goal is to destroy your marriage, so he’ll do everything he can to make things difficult. But God has provided ways for us to be successful in our marriages! It is sad and disheartening to notice the trend among most marriages today as most are breaking up. God says it was never like this from the beginning of creation. But understand that you are not alone! Abraham, Moses, Gideon, Samson, David, Solomon…they all had troubles in their marriages. God is able to turn things around for us too!

You will rescue your marriage from the devil by utilizing bible verses on marital restoration. When you are tempted to give up on your marriage, these scriptures will heal you and open your understanding of what God can do. You are going through shame and reproach right now, but i reassure you, God has His own way of doing things and He has a good plan for your life.

You will rebuild the ruins of your marriage after going through this difficult time! It can be done if you place all your trust in God’s divine intervention. By applying these bibble verses on marital restoration, you can help yourself to keep yourself from being tempted. If you want to have everlasting joy, then do whatever it takes to save your marriage because divorce is not an option amongst other things. [Please see my posts on ‘how to avoid divorce’ and ‘Divorce and Remarriage: The Devil’s Plan.’]

When we want what we cannot have, we make foolish decisions that lead us into trouble. The devil wants to kill, steal and destroy our marriages; therefore, we should do what it takes to stop him from doing so. God has given us the tools to win our battles by taking up our spiritual weapons. You can turn your situation around with these scriptures on how to restore marriage.

The bible promises that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). It is only through His strength that you are able to do all things. You can certainly restore your marriage if you continue seeking Him and knocking at the door of His grace.

Remember, God’s timing is perfect! Know that restoration may not happen immediately but as long as you continue exerting effort, blessings will follow! Your persistence will give God reason to act which will result in the restoration of your marriage.

Marriage is a journey that requires effort from both partners. It requires support, trust and encouragement. Commit yourself fully to making your marriage work if you really want it restored! Remember that without God, you can do nothing so ask Him guide you with His words of wisdom. He will never leave or forsake you as long as you live!

God has a perfect plan for your marriage and He wants you to know that it is not too late. Whether you have been separated for days, weeks, months or years, God’s word on restoration will renew your hope and strengthen your resolve!

I am a living testimony to this and have used the same strategies in my broken marriage at one time. My wife and I were separated for 8 months and we were headed for a divorce. But after going through some restoration scriptures, God transformed our hearts and restored our marriage beyond what we expected! If you are discouraged, press on as it is only the devil who wants to discourage you. And remember that what God has begun in us, He will bring to completion! Please check back as I am constantly adding new articles here at Restore My Marriage blog.

There are many things you can use to help restore your marriage including praying with your spouse, apologizing when necessary and meditating on scriptures. There is something you must know however before reading further… You cannot even begin to think about restoring your marriage unless you have already surrendered yourself unto God! He is the only one who can save you from destruction.

You must continually pray that God saves your marriage and restore your relationship by demonstrating His unconditional love and mercy. Have an obedient and submissive heart before our Lord and He will open your understanding of what God can do to help you restore your marriage.

Daily, pray for the grace to forgive yourself if you have done something wrong that might be hindering God’s plan for restoration. You should also continuously ask Him how He wants you to respond to whatever issues are affecting your marriage today because only He has the power to solve them.

If you are struggling with your marriage, God can take away your shame and return your husband or wife to you. You just have to trust that He knows what’s best. He is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that he should change his mind (Numbers 23:19).

I have put together bible verses on marriage restoration to motivate you. You can share these scriptures with your spouse to encourage him or her to seek God. Remember that only God can help you restore your marriage and make it stronger than ever before!!!

Importance of using scriptures when praying for marriage restoration

The bible is a must-read for those who feel the need to ask our Lord for help because it will show you what He has done throughout history and how He wanted people to pray. You can always find solace in scriptures because they provide hope and comfort during times of trouble (Psalm 119:114). Using bible verses during prayer is one of the keys to spiritual victory, so take time to read them carefully and you will see how God can really help.

Prayer is the key to a working relationship with God…and a marriage restoration can only be achieved through prayer. Ask Him for what you need and He will provide it. His unfailing love is evident in all that He does because He knows what we have been through and wants to restore our broken marriages for His glory alone.

Some frequently asked questions about marriage restoration:

Praying for a marriage to be restored is actually very easy. Just talk to God like you are talking to your best friend or your closest family member because He is the only one who can help you (James 4:8). Normally, I like to start with something like this: “Dear Lord, I come before You right now and ask that You restore my marriage. Lord Jesus Christ bring back my wife/husband…” You may use any manner of words that you feel comfortable using but make sure that they exude love (1 Corinthians 16:14) because it is God’s unconditional love that will motivate your spouse to return home.

If you have hurt your spouse so much he or she has left the house, you should immediately pray for God to restore your marriage. You may even want to consider apologizing so that both of you can start afresh (Proverbs 2:8).

After doing so, ask our Lord for grace because this might be hard on you but He is faithful and will give it to you (2 Corinthians 1:20). The bible says that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins…and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

The bible says He is not a man that he should lie nor the son of man that He should change His mind (Numbers 23:19). The bible is full of scriptures on marriage restoration, you just have to search for them. Here are some of them:

And [Boaz] said…will you go with me [to be my wife…] And she said, I will go [with you.] (Ruth 3:1)

This shows that Ruth was willing to restore her relationship with Boaz because she immediately agreed when he asked her to go with him. This is a very good example!

The bible says that God is able to build us up and give us an inheritance among all those who are sanctified (Acts 20:32). We should let Him do this for our marriage because He is the one who can really help.

In order to start, you need to surrender yourself to the Lord and ask Him to fix your marriage. I encourage you not to look for a human solution because they will fail, but let God take care of it as any good Father would do with his children (Psalm 103:13).

You have to trust in His goodness. There are many scriptures on how our Lord provides for those who love Him and don’t see eye to eye with their spouse but love Him nonetheless (1 Peter 2:19).

He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5) and if He says that He won’t then this is definitely what will happen. Just trust in His unfailing love because your marriage took place under the eyes of God, not just anyone else’s…

There are too many quotes to mention here, but I will simply show one example from the bible. It is about Joseph who was falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife. Look at how he prayed for help: “How can I go to my father if the boy is not with me? But God did not allow him to harm Joseph. So Potiphar put Joseph in prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were confined” (Genesis 39:20-21).

No! You cannot give up because God is working in your life and never ceases to be with you (Psalm 46:1). Even the bible says that we should trust in Him at all times, pour out our hearts before Him. He is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble…(Psalm 62:8)
